A story of hope. a story of love.
a story of home.
Grace, an African Princess - after fleeing a devastating war in her homeland, arrives, penniless, in the freezing, grimy docklands of an American city.
The underworld of this city is ruled by the evil gang lord Ivan who, after a an unexpected encounter, has set his sights on Grace - her spectacular beauty has dazzled him!
But another has already captured her heart. The street-smart Rafael, a young construction worker with bold ambitions, is determined to win her love. But will his dreams lead only to tragedy…?
Forced to adapt to a very different world, Grace makes friends with Rafael’s feisty and reckless twin sister Isabella, and together they must find ways to survive and keep their dreams alive until Grace can find a way to return to her beloved homeland…

what are we looking for?
The Panel would like to get to know you as a performer and an artist, in the specific context of Calling Us Home. At this stage we are asking all auditionees to please prepare the music materials provided for your voice type. The Song Extracts below have been chosen to present you with specific musical challenges.
We highly encourage you to embrace the opportunity for characterful storytelling in your performance. We invite you to make the songs truly your own by bringing your unique interpretation, emotions, and personal style to each piece. This is your chance to demonstrate not only your vocal skill but also your creativity and ability to connect deeply with the material.
For any information, please contact Mr. Dian Harcovecchio at support@shymusic.co.za.
